Online event: A discussion about the results of the devolved elections in Scotland and Wales

Event Date:

The think tanks Enlighten and PolicyWise are delighted to invite you to join a discussion about the results of the devolved elections in Scotland and Wales.

Both nations face the prospect of disruptive outcomes and uncertainty about what will follow. Our expert panel will analyse the results and the key issues that drove them, and explain the message that voters have sent. What next for the political parties and the key players? They will also explain what’s on a First Minister’s desk after an election, how to negotiate a programme for government, and how to build relations with other parties and governments.

Our panel consists of:

Jane Runeckles, National Officer of the FDA trade union and Former Head Special Adviser to the First Minister of Wales.

Liz Lloyd, a Specialist Partner at Flint Global and former Chief of Staff to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon

Dr Anwen Elias, Reader in Politics at the Department of International Politics, Aberystwyth University and Co-Director of the Centre for Welsh Politics and Society.

Professor Ailsa Henderson,  Associate Dean of Research Impact for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Edinburgh and Principal Investigator for the Scottish Election Study.

The discussion will be chaired by Chris Deerin, Director of Enlighten.

This event will be held via Zoom on Tuesday 12 May starting at 1.00 pm. Login details will be provided on RSVP to [email protected]
